Rotary Award
Year 10 and 11 Catering Students will have the opportunity to take part in the Young Chef Competition.
This competition aims to encourage young people to:
• Develop cookery skills
• Develop food presentation skills
• Consider healthy eating options and food hygiene issues.
• Prove their organisational and planning skills.
The school heat will take part in October.
Task: Prepare and cook a hot main meal for two people within a budget of £4.00, in 1 hour.
The winner of this will then go through to the area finals which will take place in November.
Area final will take part in November.
Task: to prepare, cook and serve two plated portions of a hot main course and two plated portions of a hot or cold sweet.
