Drama
Drama in the Curriculum
In the theatre and in the classroom drama is a way into knowledge; it opens up new ways of looking at things. Through theatrical metaphor the world we live in is explored.
Drama is a practical artistic subject. It is both a learning medium and an art form in its own right. Drama is a shared fiction through which we make sense of the world and our experiences within it.

Facilities
Drama at Teign is part of the Performing Arts Department and is located in the Performing Arts block. Drama at Teign School is taught in three purpose built spaces. The newest space is the ‘Templer Theatre’ a state of the art performance venue which opened in September 2011. The second space is the ‘Drama Hall’ a superb teaching and small scale performance space with theatre lighting, excellent digital sound equipment and multimedia facilities. The third teaching space is the ‘Dance Studio’ which is adjacent to the Drama Hall and is an ideal space for drama activities. We also have a Theatre Workshop (formally known as the annexe) which is where we make and store our sets, props, lighting equipment and highly impressive costume collection.
