The musical is loosely based on Shakespeare's The Tempest and the 1950's science fiction film Forbidden PlanetThe plot follows the crew of a routine space survey flight under the command of Captain Tempest (Ben Moss). Their spaceship is drawn mysteriously to the planet D'Illyria where mad scientist Doctor Prospero (Jordan Bowers) and his lovely daughter Miranda (Lauren Coates) are marooned.

TeignSchool’s performances took place on the 22nd – 26th January and was a great success for all involved.  The show was a sell out every night with some audience members returning for a second viewing.  The school has received many letters and emails quoting “a splendid evenings entertainment” “truly spectacular”, “best one yet” and all congratulating the pupils on their performance and the “excellent” production.
